Focusing rectangle does not appear on your camera

14. Focus Rectangle does not appear

Problem:

Cannot Zoom in the Preview – zoom contents of the focus ring – the Focus Rectangle does not appear. (Customer is using a 5D mark III with a 24-70mm lens) on Windows 10).

 Cause of problem:

Wrong Camera Setting. The camera defaults to the wrong focus setting "L + Tracking" and this will cause the focus ring / rectangle not to appear on the PackshotCreator software and make the zoom feature invalid.

Solution:

Please change the AF method from the camera menu manually.

Note: On certain Canon cameras we have to set the AF Method manually and sometimes the place to set this feature can be hard to find in the camera menu system. (AF method) is the same on all Canon cameras, but the selections inside AF method can be different. Also, this setting may be hidden when the camera is on Shooting Mode. So you may have to put the camera into Video Mode, then you can see and change the required setting.

Here is an example for the 5D Mark III:

First change the camera to Video Mode. Then look for AF Method. Then choose: Live 1-point AF

For most other cameras you can find AF Method in the Shooting Mode and change the AF Method to “FlexiZone – Single”
